    Default Red Light Runners

A couple good letters in the opinion section of the Fresno Bee this morning criticising comments made by Fresno PD and the reporting of the school teacher killed by a red light runner. Nice to see some people are paying attention. I too am fed up with reading about how these incidences are glazed over if mentioned at all and somehow fault is placed on the motorcyclist. I think if they made these accidents very public and fried these red light runners to the full extent of the law, it could have an impact people trying to slip through the intersection at the last moment. Instead the courts give these people a slap on the wrist and send them on their way. I've seen it first hand.

i have noticed a lot more people running red lights in the past few months. almost been taken out in a few of the incidents as well. luckily in one situation my wife was paying attention while she was driving, otherwise she possibly might not be alive today.

What the h-e-double-toothpicks ever happened to those fancy cameras at certain intersections around Fresno? Oh yeah, they coudn't decide how to split the revinues. Good thing gone bad. Fresno realy knows how to screw thing up. The punishment needs to be severe and swift. Again as I said in another thread, I we had stupid tax, I think our economy and streets would be safer.

Nah, it had something to do with funding. I actually think the company that provided them had them on loan to the city, and they didn't generate enough revenue to pay for themselves.....They must be hella expensive!

I go up to Seattle once a year and they use the cameras at intersections all over town. Even in Portland Oregon. Fresno just sucks when it comes to the safety of it's citizens. But they sure know how to set up sobriaty check points. Now that's good money.

I remember the news say that the company promised so much revenue and the city did not see half that amount. The camera still never stoped anything. Sitting at a red light on Herndon and Blackstone all you saw was the falsh of the camera.

red light running definitely gets me upset, but whats really just disheartening is when you hear how many people in this gangsta town run after they hit you.
