Took a local ride today, watch out

Weather has been so nice that I took the XR out today and decided to hit up the Mountain House for a burger and beer; that is unit I transitioned onto the 245 from the 180. Nothing but a sand box and the bike tried to slide out twice right away, even the front end, until my flat-track instincts kicked in and fortunately kept me afloat. Went about I/2 mile further and said hell no, don't think so. Turned around and took the road through Wonder Valley and then up around Pine Flat instead. Wise decision. Grabbed a brew by my place at Grogg's. A few pics from today.

Metzeler Roadtec Z6 Sport Touring Tires

Only because they came on the bike when purchased with lots of fresh rubber remaining. Around 36lbs btw. Will be changing out this summer I reckon. Leaning towards Michelins at this time.

Yeah, it's tough up here in the mountains. Sometimes on the sunny warm days in the winter I want to get the bike out for a spin, but then remember how sandy and destroyed they get this time of year and end up staying home.
