La grange really is an armpit. I don't ride there and I live >30min. from there. If anyone is available Tu. Wed. or Thur.'s Those are the primary days I'm available. I can swing Saturday's after about 10a, too.

I agree. La Grange SUCKS! But some friends are going there, tried to talk them out of it but they have "childhood memories there"

Only quads there hahaha.....and when you get there you'll know why. More for dirtbikes if anything. But it's a last resort i guess.

It literally is an old quarry. A rock quarry. And they left A LOT of product behind. That and you can ride EVERY trail there, twice, in your first half hour. That and unless you ride the aweful mx track you'll never see third. Even then it isn't guaranteed.

Its small, very very rocky in most places, dangerous to climb the hills because you cant see whose up top or if anyone's about to come down (I think they should require flags there) But they've got a pretty big track from what I've seen, never actually rode on it. But worst of all they have bee hives EVERYWHERE surrounding the place, so there are bees EVERYWHERE!!!!

C.Petty
Sep 1st, 2009, 04:24 PM
Oh i forgot to add that it's also a 4wd park, so don't hit any slow moving jeeps! It's a bit of a free for all.

NinjaGirl
Sep 1st, 2009, 04:24 PM
Oh and they have ranger people there so if you dont have a green sticker, you might get your ***** towed. But when I've gone, they've never checked before you go in. It just sucks riding red cause you're paranoid.

Ha I just noticed the recommendation Serg. I'm up for a trip out to Hollister again. It's been a few years but had fun the times I've been there and I've never had my CRF there so sounds like fun.

The rangers there are green sticker nazi's thou and can even check that your smog equipment is still on the bike when you enter. That's why I filled my smog pump w/ JB weld instead of just removing it and blocking it off :D.

is jose basin still open on the powerlines ect? anyone know?
I used to ride bikes and quads up there.
prob my fav spot around here.
It has creeks and shade.
plus quite a view as you go in and out..

168 east towards Auberry
turn left on Auberry rd. towards Mono Winds Casino
drive thru the town of Auberry , when the road forks keep right
Left on Jose Basin rd.
Jose Basin turns into a one lane road with AWESOME views
about 10 miles down the road it will fork off - stay to the right...

That is one of my favorite camping spots. There are tons of off-road trails to explore up there, and great camping areas. Close to home, so you can just shoot up after work one night and still be at work when you wake up. I think there is actually a pic in my gallery from up there. Still see lots of people riding while I'm up there too.

I was pushing all week to get enough done so that I could skate out of work on Friday but after it being a short week already, monday holiday, there is no way I'm gonna be able to finish up and make it tomorrow.

If you're still heading out have a killer time, and may the roost be with you!
