View Full Version : Anyone know where to get tires mounted cheap?

Hello everyone! :D

Does anyone happen to know a good place to get tires mounted (on bike) for a reasonable price? I called Valley Cycle and Marine, they wanted 70$ for the rear and 47$ for the front plus a 4$ disposal charge.
Tulare Honda quoted me 150$! to mount two tires:(
My original plan was to use my tires up until our 4-18 track day and have Pirelli DC3's mounted for 300$ at the track but my ride last Sunday to little dragon smoked the rear and I don't feel like riding around with 2ft of cord showing down the middle of the tire and a month without riding isn't gonna cut it.
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!

you can try Willson's I think they charge like $20-25 per tire when I had my wheels powder coated or you can try APF they real resonable but I think they don't have balancing :D

Cycle Gear in Visalia is pretty cheap, but you have to take the wheels off.... Dynges Dyno does 'em, real nice private guy in Visalia, 559-977-2258.

If Visalia is closer for you, that is!

No, just good at changing tires. that rear slick i mounted on the f4 was a challenge. I was thinking that thing was a 16 1/2 instead of a 17.:)

+1 for the local guy!

Let me know when you get the chain/sprocket. I am coming to Hanford to help Jeremy with prepping his track bike. Maybe we can do everything all at once.

I have been eyeing the No-mar tire changer for years now! I almost had the fundage saved up with my last tax return. Then I went and bought a new dirtbike and now I have don't quite have the cash again. For those that are unfamiliar with the No-mar - http://www.nomartirechanger.com/

We were always going to order the basic changer and make the hitch mount part @ work so it was portable enough to take to trackdays.

They have one for just under 1k. When we vote a accept a new contract that's what I'm treating myself to. :D

The thing is, all good tire changers come with plastic covers for the grips, and teflon inserts on the heads. The problem comes from shops who are too lazy to use the covers, or don't replace them when they break. You can get a nice Atlas pneumatic machine for about $1100.

I have some Tire Irons for you to borrow :P

Only cost me a few scratches in my rims each time, found em in my mothers new house when she moved in.
