chrome & sport bikes shouldn't mix IMO

I've got a track bike now. I'm gonna pimp my R1 out, I don't care WHAT you all say. 180hp at the crank, I'm sure it can spare 1/2 a horse for some chrome.

I found a bike I'm going to model mine after. I'm not afraid to steal good ideas. My only other is how to get the gold forks black..

Have the forks anodized, that is what I did to my S forks.
Talk to Dwane at Valley Metal Finishing 268-1523

My personal preferance would be to polish the wheels instead of chrome, just my $0.02

There are two ways. You can buy the new uppers or you can sand blast them and then have them hard anodized.

You can always powder coated the rims like I did mine 

My 636's are polished, but they are not as poppin' as chrome.

Nope, I want chrome.

Be prepared to spend around $350 per wheel for chroming. You might be better off doing an exchange program through an eBay seller.

DO NOT SAND BLASAT YOUR UPPER TUBES!
The anodizer can safely remove any existing ano if any with a caustic solution, and then re-ano to what you desire..

Ok, I've decided to go ahead and just polish the wheels. Folks on the R1 forum are having problems with the chrome process weakening the rims, causing the rims to crack.

Now I have to decided if I want to leave the center black or repaint it to match the bike, like so..

Thats the ticket!

My personal opinion is that the wheels in pics above are much more attractive than chrome.

I like that better than all chrome. But I think painted to match the bike would be better.
