I tried looking on the internet for some info about tire shelf life but cant seem to find any. Does anyone know if there is a point in time when a Pirelli Corsa 3is to old and unsafe to use. I know there is like 5-6 year shelf life for car tires but just wondering if I would be safe buying a tire that was made in 06 for a motorcycle.

It was made in 2006

Ever ridden or just sitting on shelf? I am not tire expert but I would think it was ok.

I found this excerpt:

But properly stored, tires don't change much over time and certainly tires that are 3 years after manufacture are OK and I would have no reservations about using them. The key to this is "properly stored". Tire manufacturers' warehouses have good storage conditions, but I worry about some wholesalers and retailers

Its from here (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Tires-2359/DOT-Shelf-Life.htm).

As long as no long term exposure to the sun, or heat or any other conditions like that, it should be ok to use.

As long as they were not stored in an attic or someplace that gets unusually hot (150F) or in direct sunlight they will be OK.

The tire have been in the guys garage for a year and have never been mounted so they are brand new. I'm hoping they will be fine.
