View Full Version : Back-up bike @ track day?

Regarding track days, I know you pay for one track entry for one person. But with the recent string of mishaps at track days, I been wondering if track officials will let you pay for one entry but be able to bring a second bike?

Rather than sitting out at 9:20 AM like Bryan did (I have too) for the whole day until leaving to come home at 4 PM, will track official allow you to take the entry sticker off of the wreck bike and put it on the back up bike and be able to ride so long as you can still ride? Second question, even if the first bike wasn't wreck, would track officials allow you to ride more than one bike since some of the stickers at these events don't peel off as easy and therefore can't be transfer to the second bike?

There are many in here (Calkidd, Poach, Ducbill996, Aaw749r, Yoageallen, Bonkers) that are fortunate enough to have multiple bikes and even a designate track bike. Why wouldn't you (I) bring two bikes to track days?

Just like to know if any of you guys have done this or know the answer.

I wont swear by it, but I don't think it matters if you have two bikes. But both would have to pass tech inspection. I'm pretty sure I've read on other forums where riders have used two bikes.

I can't speak for other orgs, but Trackdaz allows both of these scenarios without any additional billing. The only catch is both bikes must remain in the group the rider signed up for.

Yes, Adrian took two bikes one year and was able to ride both through out the day.

In my situation I would have not been able to ride my second because of my injuries.

Most of the track day organizers I have riden with allow you to bring more then one. They usually require you to tech each bike. I have in the past done this and just put my track sticker on over duc tape so I can switch.

I'm gonna say probably not. They would probably spot the ones on the front fender right away, as they check the tires.

You should be fine. Just don't voluntary give the info. But really, you're fine. I saw some bikes there with zip ties holding the side fairings together.

If I see it's it's secured well, I give em a sticker. At some point, all my race bikes have been zippy'd in the areas you mention and then some...
