View Full Version : Rumble to the Summit!

Rumble to the Summit is one of the most popular runs in California as cruisers take a police escorted ride through historic Old Town Clovis, wind up scenic Highway 168 through Shaver Lake, over Tamarack Ridge at the 7,000’ elevation and down into the beautiful Huntington Lake basin at Sierra Summit Ski Area. Come join us and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central California. Save the date, as this will be another beautiful and exciting day in the High Sierras.
This is a great cause, and a great ride.

I have seen them take Auberry road in the past. Is the route different this year? Are they really going to head up 168? I am not a big fan of Tollhouse after sample rd (where it becomes Morgan Canyon Road) up to Prather. Auberry Road is a better road.

That is the text from the venue website...

I have always wanted to make this ride. I work on Saturdays:( In years past Table Mountain was a sponser and we used to host a post ride bar-b-que.
Have a great ride and stop in and say hi on your way down the hill!

I was thinking about splitting off @ sample and going the back way up Toll House then splitting off again after Shaver lake and going up the back way to Huntington via Big Creek.
:D
Much Safer that way. Every weekend warrior in the county will be there and maybe 5% will be legally drunk!

Yeah, but that won't be until 4 pm when it's over. I think the parade, because of all the turns will be more dangerous. I'm thinking of leaving the house @ 7 ish. Breakfast at Humphrey's, then ride on up ahead of the mass.

Enjoy the entertainment Sean. Be sure and post some pix.
Bryan that is an even better plan. I'll ask them at Humphrey's Tomorrow maybe if they'll be open early for the rumble.
May I join you for breakfast??
Don't know if Daniel will want to go.

Great ride today! I haven't been in a Rumble since '04, but I really liked the way they staged the event. Nice job.

Boy that's a lot of bikes. I saw many of them drifting home through town this afternoon. Maybe someday.

:( too bad I couldn't make it out for any of the festivities, however, I did "hear" things going on. I could hear the engines and music from Friday nights from my house (about a mile and a half away).
