Funny!
Today eastbound on Shaw in Clovis, I came upon a big fellow on a newer big Gixxer, likely running a fat 190 or larger if that's possible (I don't know). As he slowed for a light and I approched, I noticed a long 12-15 inch of metal cord showing. Around 3/4 inch wide and I think he had more than one also. I had to tell him even though I'm sure he was already aware.
As I came alongside this large African American fellow wearing a T-shirt over pants over thongs, as in beach sandals:eek:
whatever! I kindly pointed the danger which he was indeed aware and seemingly grateful of my observation, and went on my way.

after you do a few tire's with that tire machine they get easier, Rollin Recreational Tire Service has the same one but Andrew is set up in a truck and he come's to the house, I've seen him at the bike night here in Visalia changing a set of tire's on a Harley. He has a real nice set up and does real good work. And he has gave me some real good deals on tire's.
A friend of mine at SIC CYCLE CUSTOMS also has the No Mar tire machine.
With that machine it would be real hard to scratch a rim...

I have a Dunlop Sport Max Qualifier 190/50 in the shop with 2K very easy highway miles on it that I'm selling for $75. A local shop which will remain nameless installed it on my buddie's sport touring bike just befor he rode to the WSB races at Miller Motorsport last weekend and back to find that - wow, this is not a comparable tire as to what the factory installed. Fortunately they were able to meet him half way on the correct tire.
NO LONGER AVAILABLE - Was missinformed. Sorry for the teaser.
$75 for the tire
$20 for the mount and balance
=
$95 CASH
I also have some used 180/120 stickey track day tire take offs to sell if interested.
This offer is still good

Get a purple helmet!
So did you learn anything?
I learned how to "BACK IT IN". Seriously I learned better throttle control, way better braking technique, how to control and brake when coming in to "hot" on tight turns, choosing better lines, simple exercises to help with vision and reading information on the street, how to do donuts:D, how to control a sliding bike (which would of been helpful at T-Hill when I crashed), and better passing techniques. Rich's Wife cooks some good food too! I know I am missing a lot of stuff I learned, but I know I left a better rider from his school, and not to forget all the goodies I got from them, stickers, zines, shoei key chain, shirt, hat and a painting done by Rich and signed, because I got most improved rider at then end of the two days. My favorite part is all the racing we get to do at the end of Saturday and most of Sunday.

Valve Stem - $82.75 each
Schrader Valve - $17.99
Setm Cap - $2.22
Installation extra - depends on mood
Air $1.50/psi - 30psi minimum
I'll have something for you by friday my friend, my full time business is slamed at the moment.
 $82.76 for a valve stem...that's pricey.
I was thinking about something more in the lines like this

You are talking about two different types of tires. The PR's are DOT race tires and the DC III's are dual compound street tires.

he is actually right... these tires have a soft carcass so need more air pressure to keep them from flexing too much... at the track i've run 'em as high as 38R-36F cold, and they worked great...that is well over 40 PSI. hot!

if you run DC III's down below 30 cold, they get real squiggly and unstable... i've tried running low before but the bike moves around too much when in turns cause the tires flex...
they are high performance STREET tires so they have a soft carcass to deal with pot holes and bumps and such. people should not mistake 'em for a race slick that has a carcass that is made out of concrete that can be run at 20PSI...

My bike in my avatar was shod with DCIII's and worked very well for that track day and the second one.
But for some reason the track seems to really tear them up or it could be my riding I am not sure. The third track day was T hill and in turn 3 the front tucked a little thus loosing all confidence in them which caused me to pull a rookie move and dump the bike in turn 5. Don't get me wrong I am not blaming the tire for my accident, they were just the catalyst.

The aluminum 90deg valve stems would run about $30 for a set right now (same as Motowheels) but once I get set up with them and PU it should go down. Not looking to get rich off of the MC stuff, I just want to make it worth my while and mostly be involved.

Bill must be smashing it on the street. He must be laying down some serious rubber. 1000 miles for me would be to and from work in 2 months time. That's too rich for my blood to be buying tires that quick.
I would like to think that I can get 2500 miles on my DCIIIs. I hope so.

I believe the subject of tires came up because Ray did say that he's going to be stocking tires such as Pirellis and maybe Michelins. That's why tires are being discussed so that Ray would know our perferences. I believe I even posted for Ray to stock Michelin Power Race and I would make his shop my next place to get tires from.
Then we talked about valve stems too.

Dammm Ray, you're the man. I didn't think you would be that fast getting to it. Not that I had any doubts about your abilities. But I thought I was imposing big time on your schedule with what you had to do this week and today with those metal columns.
