View Full Version : How restricting are your leathers?

Hey I was just wondering how restricted you guys feel in your leather suits/pants. I've got the A* 2 piece suit, and I can not spread my legs out nearly as far as in just say jeans or something. I see pictures of guys in full suits and they seem to be unaffected by them. I'd think they are pretty much broken in, I've got about 6 hours of riding time in them. Only problem with them is they are kinda long on me, but I don't see that hindering something like that. Possibly a 2 piece Vs. 1 piece situation?
Ehh, just got curious and figured I'd ask.

well i have the a* track pants (pretty sure they are the same pants you got) and i too am feeling the restriction that you are referring to. they fit me perfectly but when it comes to spreading my legs (dont think dirty thoughts you pervs!) i just cant get my knee out that far:confused:. either its a 2 pc thing, or more likely its a A* pant thing.
I really like these pants though and i am thinking about getting a seamstress to alter them to fix this little "problem"

For alterations and/or repairs try Greg Apelian @ Clovis Boot & Shoe Repair. He repaired my 1 peice suit and made alterations. Good quality at a very fair price. He also makes Harley type riding gear such as chaps, vests, jackets...
He is a little difficult to understand sometimes due to a thick accent but a he11 of a nice guy.

Alpinestars makes great products but I don't own one. Every time I tried to fit in one, it just doesn't fit me right. It might just be the design and cut of the leather or maybe it's my frame. Because the same size jacket and suit in Dainese, Frank Thomas or Berik fits me so so so much better. The jacket in Alpinestars restricts me.

I had the A-stars track pants. Yes, please note that I said had. I experienced the same problems. Had trouble getting a knee out. Even had trouble pulling my feet up to the pegs after leaving a stop. I returned the pants and now have an A-stars 1 piece suit. LOVE IT! I hardly notice that it's on.

yeah A* fit differently especially in the thigh area. A* leathers is not really geared towards American "size". If you are a 38 waist in A* pants, they expect you to be somewhere around 6ft tall. Bigger the waist, longer the pant leg.

Thanks for the replies...at least now i know its not just me...well i may not be able to get a knee down with them, but i'll be using them throughout the summer for the added protection...hopefully by the end of summer i'll be able to afford a good 1 piece
