This (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18919768/) is just so bad, I guess they will put anythig on TV.

I guess the ONLY good that can come out of it is that people will become aware of the shortage out there...

As a side note how many people here are organ donors? I know I have the little pink dot on my license.

That is just too creepy for me.

Though, I have always thought that selling a kidney would have been a good way to fund college.

I am a donor and believe strongly in an organ going to save a life.

This could get real serious for me as anyone coming over from the Pashnit board knows. I just had a heart transplant, so I, for one, am extremely grateful that at least one particular man in LA was a donor.

Being a donor is great, and perhaps more people becoming aware of the need for organ donation would be a benefit of this show...but running a game show sort of thing for an organ is a little too gruesome. I feel like it is just a creepy reality tv plan to exploit a family's suffering for network dollars.

What would you have done to "win a heart Sean?? I can see it now "Sean!! Come oooooooooon dowwwwwn! You're the next contestant on Match Game!!!"

There was a bill introduced to consider motorcyclists automatic donors. It didn't fly but it is awful for people to even think such a thing!!

http://www.ama-cycle.org/news/2004/organdonor.asp

Jan. 7 – The American Motorcyclist Association has expressed its outrage over a proposed law in California that could force some motorcyclists to be organ donors against their wishes.

The proposal is an amendment to Assembly Bill 1200. The original proposal would allow adults 18 and older to decide whether to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle. The amended version states that those who chose not to wear a helmet "is deemed to have consented to the making of an anatomical gift under this act."

AMA Western States Representative Nick Haris said that while the AMA supported the bill in its original form, it can't support the measure with the new amendment.

"Riders who wish to donate their organs should be under no undue pressure to do so," Haris said. "This provision makes a mockery of the spirit and kindness of voluntary organ donation."

Assemblyman John Longville (D-San Bernardino), left, amended the bill to require motorcyclists who wish to ride without a helmet to be organ donors.

A New Mexico lawmaker introduced similar legislation about a year ago and quickly withdrew the proposal after the AMA mustered opposition to the bill from motorcyclists around the nation.

More on this across the nation. http://www.ama-cycle.org/releases/2003/A03002.asp
