I have to get some footwear to cover my ankles for the MSF course and I have been doing some shopping online. I figure I might as well just get the boots now, since I will need them soon anyways. I wanted to know what kind of boot do you ride with??

Sprocket reminds me of that guy from the movie "What women want." I bet Sprocket even tries the womens gear on too :D
Ready2Run,
Wear something confortable that covers your ancle like some work boots or else your feet will be hurting for a while during that MSF class. I wore my basketball shoes to the class when i went :)

I have Sidi's, but they are a race boot......they make a boot that's lace up, called the DOHA....Also check out the Alpinestars web site, they have some riding shoes now

Work boots suck as riding boots.

All you need is something comfortable. High top sneakers work well. I would advise against taking the class in something you are not intimately comfortable with. New boots usually do not provide this feeling.
Good luck!!

Thanks Jester & Gus, I was talking to Jer and he said the same thing. If I ever get into MSF, I will just get some converse hightops or something. Just didn't want to buy those just for the class. ;)

When I took the class I had these (http://www.motorcycletoystore.com/sport/shop.php/boots/icon-women-39-s-bombshell-boot/p_464.html) However I needed all the height that I could get... Julie with your statuesque frame you don't need to worry about that. The boots I have now are these (http://www.motorcycletoystore.com/sport/shop.php/boots/puma-flat-2-motorcycle-boots-black/p_2623.html) and I LOVE them. BUT, really really really big but... I had to break them in the first two times I wore them it was a KILLER... So I would not recommend them if you don't have time to break them in... I know a lot of people bag on the Icon Bombshell, but I found them to be very comfy. And cute! But I only really wear them if I am just going to be putting around town!

I've got a beat up pair of Technics that have seen WAY better days... so I'm also keeping my eyes open for new boots! I've been told waterproof boots can be REALLY hot, so I'm trying to find something vented... I ride way more in 100 degrees than I do rain!!
Also, unless you have really narrow feet, check out the equivalant men's sizes... there are more options, and men's gear goes on clearance more (and I think the manufacturors still make men's gear better quality than their women's gear...). I wear a 9&1/2 or 10 ladies, and have a C width foot, so a men's 8 usually fits better than a regular B width ladies size. (A regular width ladies shoe is a B width, a regular width men's shoe is a C width, and the sizes are generally 1&1/2 to 2 sizes different... 10 ladies = 8 mens, etc)

Yeah, does Manolo Blahnik, Fendi, Prada, or Oscar De La Renta make motorcycle boots? Ha Ha! ;)
If anyones into spending the cash to pimp it out, its Jer. Ask him how many pairs boots he has.

So, with my "Drag-Queen" like stature I was researching what suits would work with how tall I am. I know Alpinestars makes a suit for men in tall, but no ladies tall! The tallest is 5'10". The measurements are kind of large everywhere else, too. :( I have to do more research. Its a long way off. First I have to go to the MSF course and become familiar and comfortable with the bike before I even think of taking her into the hills with you guys!
Can we say "Custom suit!?" LOL.

Yeah, I've given up on off the rack suits/pants... I'm too leggy (34" inseam) and too tall (5'10") for anything they make for women off the rack... and men's suits do NOT fit right... I don't mind wearing the Icon men's jeans for $70, but I'm NOT going to pay $600+ for something that doesn't fit right, and makes me look like a man! Or for a ladies suit that ends two inches below my knee...
Custom suit it is, when I get the extra $$$!

I get flack about my bombshells too. I love them because like you seductive, I need the extra height. I also am considering getting these ones: http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=74&L2=124&L3=&L4=&item=FTL_SEB079-BZ-L4_G&tier2=47 for longer rides and they would prob be good for your MSF course. I just wore some cheep ol' payless boots for my MSF course.
