i have a k7 1000 with dual exhaust and seen a stock k7 600/750 exhaust short single side with converter and all. how bad would this affect the performance on my bike and is it even possible to interchange?

i have the same bike and thought about trying to make that work cuz i had an exhaust from an 07 600 and it would be a lot of effort and custom fabrication and since the exhaust volume would be changed so much performance of the engine would also change.

(i have done a lot of work on bikes and suzuki's in particular)

The bike will amaze you once you get rid of the extra weight. The CAT convertor made of iron is around 8-10 lbs. The dual exhaust both weight in around 10-15 lbs. You will shave off 25lbs if you go with a single side exhaust.

I went with RACEFIT Carbon Single exhaust. The pipe itself is 2 1/2 inch in diameter. So if you don't like super loud tunder, then don't go with RACEFIT. I'm sure it's not street legal. Pick something quieter like Yoshimura. The whole RACEFIT system is 863 grams. That's like 1.6 pounds total. That compared to 25lbs stock makes the bike ride and perform so much better. Not to leave out torgue increase too.

Was...

working on putting it back. The pipe is bent from lowside. The titanium is super light but titanium is super strong and unbendable with mere hands. I'm taking it over to Ray to see if he can help.

That's what I mean Dan. I don't want this to happen to my bike.

If you are looking for a good Suzuki mechanice I would refer you to Gary at Cycle Tune. However, if you are planning on having any aftermarket modifications done you will need to trailer your bike to the shop with out a license plate thus making it "off road" use only.

thanks for the heads up on the "off road" status:DNP;), however don't listen to his secretary who told another member here that he could ride his bike to the shop and have a PCIII installed and dyno tuned.

thanks for saving me the pains & aches!

other riders were saying look into aprovak (maybe spelled wrong) but that system was 1800 bucks and way out my pocket book range:(

Akra is good, but I think they have become so popular they are just ridicilously expensive. And it is Akrapovic ;) (pronounced "A-krap'-o-vich")

Isn't it more like (Uh-krop-o-vich)?

But you can find good deals out there. And certainly Arata is not so cheap either. I would call them comparable in price. Although I certainly haven't shopped for the Arata stuff much since I switched to Suzuki.

im probably goona end up putting the M4 on one of these days on my bike. If i had the money id get the termingini system or arrow. both are duels, super light and look beautiful.

but M4 is a great pipe and in budget.

No there is a difference. Arata exhaust and Akrapovic exhaust are not one and the same. They are different exhaust system and company all together. Now I do like the ARROW exhaust. Very well known in Europe. Just couldn't find a good distributor for me to buy one from. I would had gone Arrow before Racefit.
