Thought I would finally join after lurking for a few months. I have been wanting to learn to ride for a while now. I just have to get JJH to cut me a break and let me. (So some persuasion would be great!) Been to his 2 track days. I follow a lot of Moto GP (I have a Rossi helmet) and AMA. Been to Laguna a few times. I love sportbikes!! :)

I have an idea. Insist that he go ride at Thunderhill Race Way on July 20th.

He has been insisting that it's you who won't let him to to TH.

You hear this JJH? You have to let her have a bike.

HI, Its John.

I registered a day or so ago. Kristen (K10) wants to learn to ride also.. Though she like my little CB360 better then the GSXR750 in my garage. Weird huh?.

Anyways, you two could take the MSF class together.

I know. We should.

I secretly want your brother's bike, but I don't think that will happen. I know if I get a kawi 250, I will want more power.

WHOOHOOOO, the truth has arrived!! :evilgrin0013:

Welcome, always great to have another female riding buddy!!

I highly recommend the MSF class, rather than get into the 'significant other' teaching thing, which rarely goes well... And depending on how you feel with that, I think a Ninja 500 or even SV650 would be good starter bikes... neither one is such a fire-breather than you'll have any throttle control problems. The Ninja 250s are nice, you'll just get bored so quickly...

Anyway, get out & ride!! Heck, I feel the first Annual CVR Chick Ride forming as we speak... :D

Welcome! and let her RIDE! It's more fun to ride together on different bikes than one person watching the other. It's like going to a track day to watch everyone else have fun.

It's not like she's standing there watching. She and I are riding to Moto GP next weekend. See, it CAN be a joint activity!

Yeah, I clean up his bike between sessions and take pictures of him while he's on the track...lol.

We are going to Laguna together. I am 5'11" so I set up pretty high on the GSXR. Sometimes I feel like I am towering above him. Something was also mentioned about trying to make me sick on the way up. Always a charmer.

I am looking forward to it though. No paddock passes this year, so I can't go "ga-ga" over all the racers. Last year I was pimping our son for autographs. We got tons. His whole hat was full by the end of the weekend! I can't wait to hear that sound again! Its the greatest!

:iagree: I'm 5'10", and I really don't like riding beotch on a sport bike, for that reason... you're either hunched over against their back, or peering over their head getting hit by the wind...

But hey, at our height, we can easily touch on any bike you want to ride... a good trade-off, IMHO, as its more fun to RIDE than be a backpack ANY DAY! :dblthumb2:

equal rights !!! :p I say 250 is good, but ur tall enough to go with somethin bigger :) I think that msf course is a good idea especially if u have a buddy to take it with. Well worth the money and time. Not too many men are very patient at teaching their woman how to ride. I did lots of training riding with my bff and by myself :D Im learning the twisties and the long distance stuff with my man :) something soooo fun to share with eachother.

You can take the class with K10 and get all of the droping out of the way on some one else bike ;)
