My battery is going bad, it will only hold a charge for a day or two and on the last ride I forgot and left the key on and it went dead in less than 5 minutes (thanks DJ & Dale for sticking around and helping me out).
Is there a difference from generic or off brand batteries and name brand? Right now I have a Yuasa and want to know if I should stick with the same brand or save some $ and buy a cheap battery? Any advice is apreciated. Below is a link to batteries on ebay.

I know it's only a battery and yeah I know I'm cheap or as I prefer a "bargain hunter".

Most batteries come from only a handful of manufactures. I went with Bike Master and paid half the cost of a Yusa. Also, go by Wal Mart and see if they have a battery for you.

I think mine is an EBC, but I don't remember, it was the cheapest I could find for my bike at the time. I figure all of the manufacturers use the same basic technology, lead acid has been around forever.

I agree no need to break the bank for a great battery.

I like Yusa batterys. Usually I buy them dry, them hit up our battery guy that comes to our shop for the acid. Last one I bought was about 5years ago. Still in my Z1R and working good. I only ride the bike once in awhile.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll be saving some $ and buying the cheaper batt.

In working on old cars and now old bikes, I find I crank the starter ALOT. I have never had any problems with Sears Diehard (they really take the drain and recharge well). I don't see any reasion to spend money on anything else.;)

last battery i bought for a bike was a champion from work and it worked good. I would let the bike set for a few weeks and when I went to start it, it started everytime. No problems whatsoever.

a battery will last up to 10 years if you dont abuse it..
An old lady brought in her 98 Buick in for a no start, checked and found out it still had the OEM battery..replaced the battery and fires right up
so it's not how much you pay for it, it's how you treat it

Update, finally got around to buying battery. Called Cycle Gear and they wanted $213.95 (Yuasa) plus it was a special order then called Tulare Honda and it was the same price but they did have it in stock, both said they couldn't get any other brands for my bike. Finally checked on line and ordered it from batterymart (generic) for $83.88 shipped. My battery should hold out until I receive the new batt as long as I charge it before each use. It pays to be cheap.:D
