Road work on Tollhouse/Lodge

Might want to avoid the Sample/Tollhouse/Lodge Road loop this weekend. Today, road crews laid down oil and gravel at Sample/Pittman hill to Burrough Valley Rd. They also put oil and sand down at the bottom of the 4 lane to Prather.

thanks Shawn, How is the bike doing? I will try and talk Tom into a ride (maybe Sun. before/after SBK/motoGP )when he comes over tomorrow as I have only done 100mi. in the last two months.

I was wrong on how far the gravel goes. Apparently, it goes from BV Rd to Humphreys. The road from HS to Sample is still good. Drove down it today and the gravel is pretty well packed down and it was swept. Still has patches of loose gravel that are hard to see, especially in the corners. 168 looks pretty good. Any sand that is left is easy to spot. But they also put gravel down on Auberry Rd from Prather down to ?, but it is probably in the same condition as Tollhouse.

cause they gotta look like theyre usin our tax dollars wisely...and they dont have to lay completely new road just resurface. dont we got a caltrans worker on here??? haha i am sure he can explain :p
