Ride for a Hero began in 2006 as a ride amongst three soldiers, bringing together Sport Bikes, Cruisers and Hot Rods to a single coordinated event destination, in support of the wounded service men and women in the Global War on Terrorism. Originally Operation Appreciation, Soldier’s Angels Germany is now our direct contact who provides these much needed donated items to our wounded heroes. Located at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, which provides care to all of the casualties evacuated from front lines of Iraq and Afghanistan.

The donated Transitional Backpacks and their contents are comfort items the Government does not provide. We are donating clothes, letters and gifts for the morale and welfare of our wounded heroes to help in their healing process. We want to send a piece of home to someone who serves proudly in the U.S. Armed Forces and has made a sacrifice for all of us. A loved one who is now far away, wounded in the line of duty and waiting to be able to come home. Please help us in raising public awareness and showing support to our wounded troops on July 15th, 2007 at Camp Roberts California and RIDE FOR A HERO!

Ride for a hero is a destination drop-off point event. It's purpose is to help provide our wounded solders with the necessities of life that the government doesn't provide to them upon their return home.

A soldier wounded in combat is stripped of his gear and shipped immediately to treatment facilities in Germany. And although they have some support, they're still a long way from home.

Their goal is to help show support and raise the morale of these wounded troops by helping provide them transitional backpacks for their journey back to the United States.

No matter my personal feelings about the conduct of our government and it's use of our military, I support the men and women who serve in out nations military services and put their asses on the line and shed their blood so that we may enjoy the lives we have accustomed ourselves to back here in "the world." Please help me support those men and women who are injured and alone far away from home please. If you cannot attend the ride I will gladly pass on your donation to SFC David Natividad and the organizers of the event.

There are three other riders from Pashnit interested in riding over from the Central Valley.

How's this for a plan; meet at J-1 and Fwy 5, take J-1 West to 25 South and continue South on Peachtree and Indian Valley to San Miguel. Before we settle for the night I think we'll need to find road 229 (anyone like roller coasters??) then up 101 to Camp Roberts for the static display. Overnight free in the barracks, then I plan on riding up the coast on PCH Sunday morning before the traffic starts.

From the base I plan to take Nacimiento Road to W. Perimiter Road to Generals, then San Marcos Roads to Nacimiento Lake Drive to Lake Nacimiento (duuh! :p ) To Interlake Road to Jolon to Mission then FINALLY Nacimiento-Fergusson Road to PCH. I hope it's not too crowded. Depending on the group, I plan on spending minimal time over the DY. Break in Carmel then out CVR to Arroyo Seco then over to Stagecoach to Salinas Grade. From there It matters little how we get back to Fresno. Slab or 25 back to J-1 where it all started, it's all good!!

This will be a long ride so you will need to bring water. A Hydration pack will save your butt on one of these.

Who's up for this??
