Nice pups!

Mine are both pound puppies...

Sierra, the 'good' one, adopted in 2002 in San Diego, she's probably about 8 yrs old now... we've traveled the country together, trips into Baja, she's been to nearly every MX track in So Cal and most in Louisiana! Best guess, Pit Bull/Boxer/Lab... she travels leash free, won't even chase a squirrel unless she gets permission! :)

Then Calypso, the 'smart' one, adopted last December out of the Delano animal shelter, best guess two yrs old... he's quick to pick up new commands, and to figure out what I want him to do, but HYPER, bounces around like he's got springs in his feet, is proud of himself 'cause he caught his first squirrel (this dog is FAST  ) last time we went walking in the hills... best guess, Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix.

And one of the two of them together... Sierra doesn't have much patience for Calypso, but I think she's finally forgiven me for bringing him home! I think she likes the company, but will never admit it... :D

My cat Denver. Denver is a Bengal, which is part American Short Hair part Asian Leopard. At times he seems more like a dog than a cat. Loves to play in water. Loves to walk on a leash and he goes nuts if he gets to go for a ride in the car. His fur is the softest you have ever felt. Soft as a mink coat. He can be pretty aggressive with his play sometimes, but an amazing cat.

Yea, you should see him jump at my black lab when they are playing, crazy how brave they can get.

And Anthony, they have a little bit of a smell too them, but its not any worse than a dog or cat IMO...As long as I clean the cage every week, and empty the litter box every day, there is no noticable smell. What can get stinky is their sh1t. When I was feeding him food that had fish in it...well, I'll just say it smelled pretty horrid...but now he's on some better stuff, and it's all good now.

you could go to a recuse wild animal shelter but theres only two shelters like that are in ca one up north and the other down south by honeyton beach, or you could go to the border between ca and nevada and i think in organ i forgot its been a while since i look that up. theres so much strays in ca because people cant take care of them, so they let them run wild. so the wild shelter has some definitely. i use to baby sit those kind of "cats."

Wouldn't you have to have special permits and stuff to even obtain one from one of these shelters in CA? If I would have known a shelter would have been a possibility, I would have probably gone that route, or reccomended it to others.

you need a permit to breed them but, i remember something about you can have a permit in ca for you don't have to get in trouble. it shows that you know how to take care of them but i dont know where to get the permit, probably the wild animal shelter :confused2:. i can always try to get a hole of my old friend that sneak them in to ca, and see what she knows about this stuff. or find the web site.

zzrabbit
June 14th, 2008, 09:58 PM
ok i cant find the web site but i will keep looking, nut i did find out a little about the permit, just go down or call your local animal shelter and they should be able to help you get a permit or send you on the right path. and they may tell you where the wild shelters are, since i cant find it right now.

People have such misconception of certian dogs, I think Pitbulls and Dobermens have the worse reputation of all dogs. Yet when you look at the history of these two dogs, they are the most loyal to the owners.

Here is my killer Rudy aka my first child.
Just ask Houa how well he protected his truck!
Houa was denied entry into his own truck unless I was in it first when we went to the Little Dragon.

The little guy is 12 now and starting to show his age a little. Many years ago when he was in his prime at 28lbs (lots of mountian biking) we were camping in West Verginia and a 300-350 pound bear came in the campsite and the 2 of them had a big standoff. Eventually Rudy made an agressive lunge and the bear turned and ran. Rudy gave chase and chewed up one led and down the other as they ran through the field. Wish I had a video of that one.

We also have a chance at a great deal on a 2002 Trails West 2-horse slant-load trailer with walk-in tack room (from the person we bought both horses from)...

So if anyone knows someone looking for a horse trailer, our current one is going up for sale:
1966 Circle-H
2-horse straight load
tack locker with slide-out saddle rack
New wiring from truck plug back to axle of trailer (put all the heavy duty wiring and plug on it myself)
6-way standard trailer plug
2" 'bull dog" hitch
all lights are working strong
newer rubber floor mats
Has trailer brakes, but the wiring under the trailer is unhooked (previous owner had no clue on electrical wiring)
even has the original black/yellow California plates on it still

Going to wash it up and take photos and put it on Craigslist this weekend...
But if anyone wants it, $1250 obo

Been a really good trailer. We bought it about 3 months ago, used it about a dozen times. The 2000 Land Rover hardly knows its back there, tows terrific.

Doesnt even need mirror extensions, its the same width as the Land Rover.

I've thought about converting a Horse trailer into a motorcycle trailer.

You know, its funny you say that... I actually was looking at the width of the trailer sides and the dirt bike and thinking.. The center divider comes out of the trailer, but the rear double doors center bar doesnt.. that might be the only obstacle... But if it was a bike trailer, it would be better building a ramp/tailgate on it anyway and just reinforce the roof rear and pull the center bar/double doors off the trailer...
I'm going to take photos of it this weekend (probably Sunday) to post on Craigslist... I'll make sure and get some rear shots.

I can't seem to access the message that was sent to me regarding the Rosy Boas so please PM me again whoever sent it.
I think these are some of the answers to your questions.
smaller red/grey female is 29"long and 6 years old
mexican rosy black/grey male is 33"long and 8 years old
larger red/grey female is 36" long and 5 years old and appears to be gravid again. she has 4-5 young each october for the past 3 years.
They are caged in a single cage (approx. 31x13x13), the local stores sell young rosy's for about $110-$125 each and usually give me $55 for the babies when they reach two months of age.

OK well I did it again. Just added two more Bengals to the house today. A male and his sister. At 8 weeks old they're just fuzz balls. In a few months the fuzz will disappear and the real colors will come out showing off the rosettes. The male is already asserting his aggressiveness and I can't keep either of them out of the water. This is going to be fun.

Well, mine are still getting used to riding. My black lab, Little Bear (Junior) likes the ride but Sach, short for Versachi just curls up in the corner of the hack. But don't you think they both look good in their "doggles"?

My tank as it is set up now, BUMP :D

on the lower left (pic #1) is a long spine sea urchin, to the right of that is 2 spotted hawk fish (one looking right at you and one looking to the right), above that are 2 zebra damsels(the owners of the tank), to the right of those monsters is my Humu (pacaso fish) (venomous) on the lower right hand side right under the log is my brittle star fish look close hard too see(the one that ate my flame hawk fish gerr that cost a 100 bucks, must have been a good dinner) the starfish stuck to the side of the tank is a chocolate chip star fish (don't do crap but sit there all day long very boring pet) the ones you don't see are my fox face (venomous) pencil spine urchin, 2 emerald crabs, sea snales, and various hermit crabs. My tank is dirty i need to clean it.

My snake is doing fine and eating well after a spell of not eating for 6 months. she has lost almost 2 pounds during that time.

We picked these two Bengals recently so now we have three in the house. Amazing cats and one of the most un-cat like cat breads I've ever had. High strung, high energy, always needing my attention and willing to do anything to get it, and can't stay out of the water (I have to fight one of my Bengals for the shower every morning). They are very social and require a lot of your personal attention. If they don't get it, they can and usually will turn real nasty.

They certainly have their issues you have to learn to deal with, but for the right household they are great cats. Just make sure you do your homework and understand what you're getting into before you make that commitment.
